Linda Sowers
Linda is the instructor for three classes in the Department of Applied and Social Sciences at the University of Missouri: Ag Sales, Fundamentals of Business Marketing and Communications, and Business Golf Etiquette. Additionally, she serves as the advisor for Sigma Alpha, a professional agriculture sorority and on other CAFNR committees. As a graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in Agricultural Economics, Linda began her career with Dow Chemical in the Ag-Products Division where she developed her sales, management and negotiating skills. She spent 5 years with Dow in various positions before making a career change to become an Account Supervisor in the advertising business. In 1990 The University of Tennessee hired her to become the first women’s golf coach where she took the team to a top 10 ranking. Home called and she returned to Missouri to work in the Office of Advancement for The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. Because of Linda’s extensive background in marketing, public speaking, sales and leadership, she is a speaker and consultant for private industry clients on professional selling strategies, personal branding and business writing.
She and husband, Steve, have two children, Stephen and Olivia, are hobby farmers with five cows.
